One of Side Street Technology’s core principals is protecting the environment. A key component in this is the reuse of any laptops or other computer equipment that can be refurbished to extend its functional lifespan. Equipment that cannot be refurbished is either used or demanufactured for components and parts. Last, units that cannot be utilized for parts are recycled through our fully certified recycling partner, 5R Processors, Ltd. Recycled computer equipment is either broken down or shredded for use as raw materials and is never placed in landfills.

5R Processors provides asset recovery and disposition services by implementing their Five “R” Process resulting in the production of safe, reusable by-products while protecting the environment. The 5R Process includes:

• Recycling all materials through state of the art, end-of-life processing.
• Reducing the amount of toxic materials entering landfills globally.
• Re-engineering manufactured electronic and other equipment in preparation for re-entrance into the marketplace.
• Reusing parts and components.
• Reclaiming all materials used to manufacture electronic equipment through demanufacturing processes.
